Our faculty of four include very talented individuals with bachelors degrees in education. Their combined 50 years of teaching experience equips Hope with experienced, talented educators.
All of our teachers hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (B.S. in Education) and are regularly involved in continuing education. Two of our faculty members currently hold state teaching licenses.

Mr. Leifer began teaching at Hope in 2006. Having the additional job of being the school administrator, Mr. Leifer oversees the curriculum, instruction, and policies of Hope Lutheran School. As a teacher, Mr. Leifer enjoys helping the students transition into independent learners that are ready to tackle the challenges of the upper grades. You can often see him out at recess playing games with the students or working with them on sports skills and rules. A father of two young children, Mr. Leifer is used to the active lifestyle that kids bring. Mr. Leifer is currently taking course for his Masters Degree in Education - Special Education Emphasis.
Carol HeynBachelor of Science in Education, 1986, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN Served at Hope since 1999. Mrs. Heyn began teaching at Hope in 2002. Now teaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Mrs. Heyn’s emphasis is in Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education. She plans many fun, hands-on learning lessons to bring these subjects to life. A devoted mother of three, and an experienced teacher, Mrs. Heyn knows how to work well with kids of all ages.
Kristine KrugBachelor of Science in Education, 1995, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN Served at Hope since 1999. Miss Krug began teaching at Hope in 1999. As a gifted musician, Miss Krug helps plan the school’s music program, teaches piano and organ lessons, and organizes our annual Music Recital. Miss Krug loves teaching young students to read, write, do math, and discover the world around them. She has successfully accomplished these goals for over 10 years at Hope.
Jane SullivanBachelor of Science in Education, 1985, University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point Served at Hope since 1999. Mrs. Sullivan began teaching at Hope in 2002. Currently teaching on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, her emphasis is in Language Arts. Mrs. Sullivan has the students delve into many complex novels and short stories. She finds a variety of creative ways for the students to express themselves with her literature units and writing projects. She also uses her creative abilities to create our school yearbook and her musical talents to direct our tone chimes choir. |
