Homework and Study Habits
Homework reinforces concepts taught in the classroom, providing practice for the mastery of skills and giving the parents the opportunity to participate in their child’s academic growth. These assignments develop responsibility, independence, and time management skills. Time is provided during the school day for students to work on their assignments. Time spent working on assignments at home will generally not exceed the following guidelines:

Kindergarten ...................10 to 15 minutes
Grades 1 and 2 …............20 to 30 minutes
Grades 3 through 5 ….......30 to 45 minutes
Grades 6 through 8 ...........45 to 75 minutes
